Pearl Island is the name of the project located on the island of same name in Pearl Archepelago in Pacific Ocean. The archipelago is a group of 200 or more islands and islets (many tiny and uninhabited) lying about 30 miles (48 km) off the Pacific coast of Panama in the Gulf of Panama. The most notable island in the group is Contadora Island, and Pearl Island is the third biggest island in the group (geographically named Isla Pedro Gonzalez) .
